P. Danielle Nellis

P. Danielle Nellis is an Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt. She is also a former assistant district attorney in the Office of the District Attorney General for Metropolitan Nashville, where she prosecuted a variety of complex cases before the criminal courts of Davidson County. Before joining the District Attorney’s office, Nellis was the owner of Nellis Law for four years, where her solo practice focused on defending clients in criminal and child custody matters. Nellis is also active within the community participating with the Nashville Bar Association and Foundation, Napier-Looby Bar Association and Tennessee Bar Foundation.

Nellis is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Spelman College, where she was a Spelman Presidential Scholar and received the Cole-Slater Scholarship for Graduate Study. She was also captain of her college’s Division III intercollegiate basketball team, on which she played throughout college. Nellis earned her J.D. from Boston University, where she received the Spencer R. Koch Memorial Award for Alumni Outreach.
